Eat the Rainbow
It is fairly well-known that everyone should try to eat all the colors of the rainbow to get a wide variety of the nutrients offered in different fruits and vegetables.
Eat Your Rainbow series explores ideas and recommendations that can help incorporate healthy eating habits.
Adopting a healthy diet pattern can be intimidating but it doesn’t have to be. Just as you are not expected to run a 5k on your first day of training, you are not expected to become a diet guru overnight. This guide is meant to provide you with trustworthy information and recommendations that you can slowly incorporate in your life. The goal is to make small changes that work best for you and your lifestyle.
Current recommendations for cancer prevention and cancer survivorship highlight the benefit of having an overall healthy eating pattern, rather than specific foods. Such pattern includes an emphasis of plant foods including vegetables, fruits, whole grains, while limiting foods such as red meats and processed foods, added sugars, and alcohol.
