Precision Oncology Interventions in Nutrition and Training (OnPOINT)
OnPOINT is a two-arm randomized controlled trial designed to evaluate a tailored nutrition and exercise interventions for cancer survivors. The study aims to assess the feasibility, acceptability, and retention of a stratified nutrition and exercise referral program among 300 breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer survivors who are at least six months post-treatment. Participants in ONPOINT are randomized into either an 8-week virtual intervention or a control arm. The intervention uses a complexity stratification algorithm to assign participants to low, moderate, or high complexity nutrition and exercise programs. This algorithm integrates clinical data from electronic medical records and patient-reported questionnaires to inform tailored nutrition and exercise support. Overall, the ONPOINT study aims to evaluate the feasibility of implementing a complexity stratification model in clinical settings to improve nutrition and exercise referrals, with the goal of evaluating sustainable and impactful lifestyle programs for cancer survivors.
